‘Twas mere weeks before Christmas, when all through the city,

The more I thought of it, my mood just got sadder,

Then a stomping of boots, and a knock at the door!
I sprang to the window, what could it be for?

At my doorstep he leaned a most excellent tree,
A true six or seven-footer with limbs springing free.
I completely forgot! How could it be so?

And off they all drove like a Christmas-y missile.
And I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight,
