Fire Ant Control

3 Treatments Per Year. Season-Long Control.

We’ll say it upfront. WE HATE FIRE ANTS.

They show up after rain, spread faster than they should, and somehow always find bare feet, kids, or the one spot you just stepped.

In Central Texas, you don’t eliminate fire ants—you stay ahead of them. That’s exactly what our three-treatment program is built to do.

Why are there so many fire ants right now?

Rain wakes them up.

In Central Texas, fire ants stay just below the surface until conditions are right, then they show up all at once.

Warm soil + moisture = activity spike.

So if your yard suddenly looks like it has a fire ant problem… It probably had one already. You’re just seeing it now.

Are fire ants actually that bad?

Yes. Not being dramatic here.

  • They’re not native to Texas
  • They displace beneficial insects
  • They damage local ecosystems
  • They’re aggressive and sting repeatedly

Also, they don’t do “one bite.”

They swarm. Then they all sting at once. If you’ve experienced it, you remember.

Why does it feel like they come out of nowhere?

Because they kind of do.

For every mound you see, there are usually multiple colonies you don’t.

Fire ants:

  • Move their mounds
  • Split colonies
  • Spread fast after rain

So treating one mound doesn’t solve the problem. It just buys you a little time.

Can I just treat them myself?

You can. A lot of people do.

Sometimes it works. For a bit.

The issue:

  • Most DIY treatments are reactive
  • They target visible mounds only
  • They don’t hit the full colony cycle

So you end up in a loop:

Treat → disappear → come back → repeat

What actually works long-term?

You have to think bigger than the mound.

The most effective approach is:

  • Broadcast bait across the entire property
  • Let ants carry it back to the colony
  • Eliminate the queen

That’s how you collapse the whole system, not just the surface activity.

What does our fire ant service include?

We keep it simple:

  • 3 treatments per year (timed with peak activity)
  • Full-property granular applications (lawn + beds)
  • Free callbacks if mounds show up between visits

How fast does it work?

You’ll usually see:

  • Reduced activity within a couple of weeks
  • Continued improvement as the bait works through colonies

It’s not instant but it’s thorough.

Is it safe for kids and pets?

Yes, once applied and settled.

We use targeted products designed to:

  • Minimize unnecessary chemical use
  • Focus on the ants, not everything else in your yard

We’ll give you clear instructions after each treatment.

Will this completely eliminate fire ants?

This is Central Texas. So…no.

But it will:

  • Significantly reduce activity
  • Keep your yard usable
  • Prevent constant flare-ups

Think control, not total extinction.

Why do people usually call us?

Two main reasons:

  1. Their DIY approach stopped working
  2. Someone (usually a kid or pet) got lit up

That second one tends to speed up the decision.
